It’s a little difficult to explain Desert X to someone who has never been. If it is boiled down to its simplest explanation, then Desert X is several art installations spanning across the dry atmosphere of Southern California in the Coachella Valley. Those words don’t really describe what is happening out there. The bi-annual exhibition is partly an open-air gallery, as well as a conversation between the work and the desert itself.
